What will you be doing?
- Planning and controlling all department activities, including the development of goals, objectives, and systems.
- Evaluate reports, decisions, and results of the department in relation to established goals.
- Oversee all administrative tasks related to employees, contractors, and other company needs.
- Manage the onboarding and offboarding processes for employees, continuously updating and improving procedures as needed.
- Maintain the HRIS and ensure data completeness for accurate reporting.
- Provide and implement statistical analysis and reporting to support decision-making.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, changes to pay, etc. Follow up with newly hired employees throughout their probationary period, providing periodic feedback in collaboration with department managers.
- Conduct new-employee orientation sessions and assist managers in monitoring performance and career-pathing programs.
- Rewrite job descriptions as necessary to accurately reflect roles and responsibilities.
- Assist in compiling data related to compensation and benefits.
- Support benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, invoice approval, policy re-evaluation, and other related tasks.
- Ensure all employees and contractors are covered by appropriate legal contracts, safeguarding the company’s legal status.
- Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve department efficiency and services.
- Liaise with authorities such as Identity Malta and Jobsplus, as required.
- Coordinate the organization of company events, leadership meetings, trainings, surveys, travel arrangements, etc.
- Undertake any other tasks or responsibilities as assigned in the course of the role.
The ideal candidate would possess
- A minimum of 3 years of solid experience in Human Resources, coupled with a comprehensive understanding of HR processes and best practices. Possession of a formal qualification in HR would be highly regarded.
- Deep understanding of Maltese HR law to ensure compliance with local regulations and legal requirements.
- Proven experience in working with remote and/or hybrid teams, demonstrating effective communication and collaboration skills across diverse settings.
- Experience working with employee contracts and contractors based in different countries, with knowledge of Employer of Record (EOR) arrangements being advantageous.
- Posses the ability to motivate and guide team members towards achieving departmental goals.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate departmental reports, make data-driven decisions, and identify areas for improvement in HR processes and systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate effective communication with employees, managers, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements, with the flexibility to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Proactive problem-solving abilities to address HR-related issues and challenges effectively, ensuring timely resolution and positive outcomes.
- Willingness to learn and stay updated on developments in the blockchain and crypto sector, with a keen interest in understanding the industry’s technical aspects and implications for HR strategy.
