Canton Introduction
Chainlink is a decentralized oracle network that enables smart contracts on blockchain platforms to securely interact with real-world data and external APIs. It provides reliable, tamper-proof inputs and outputs for complex smart contracts, making it a critical infrastructure for decentralized applications (dApps).
Chainlink uses a network of decentralized oracle node operators collecting and verifying data from off-chain sources. These nodes are rewarded for accurate data delivery and subject to protocol governance and staking mechanisms that enhance security assurances.
LINK is the native token of the Chainlink ecosystem used to pay for oracle services, to stake as collateral or delegation by node operators and stakers, and to participate in future governance of oracle economics.
You can stake LINK through the official staking interface (staking.chain.link). By delegating or staking your LINK you support the network’s oracle infrastructure and become eligible for rewards.
Staking LINK helps secure the oracle services that underpin many smart-contracts, increases the cryptoeconomic security of the network, and gives you access to rewards for your participation.
Rewards depend on factors such as the amount of LINK staked, node operator and network performance, and demand for oracle services. Because of these variables yields can vary over time.
The unbonding period for LINK in Staking v0.2 includes a cooldown mechanism (approx 28 days) plus a claim window.
Yes. The staking contracts are non-custodial: you retain control of your wallet and your LINK remains under your key control while delegated to the protocol.
Yes. You can claim your reward LINK and then re-stake it to increase your staked balance and earn more over time.
Yes. By staking LINK you become part of the cryptoeconomic security layer and participate in governance mechanisms outlined in the economics v2 model, allowing you to influence protocol parameters.
Simply Staking provides user-friendly redeem/delegate interfaces, experienced validator infrastructure and transparent reward reporting, supporting LINK staking in a streamlined way.
Yes. Simply Staking supports institutional grade solutions: dedicated validator access, large-scale staking support, and tailored infrastructure for funds, custodians and exchanges.
Yes. The staking contracts have undergone independent audits and a competitive audit program to maintain security.
