The Agoric Network is a layer-1 blockchain built using the Cosmos SDK and Tendermint consensus. It is designed to allow developers to create smart contracts in JavaScript, making blockchain development more accessible to web developers.
Agoric uses “hardened JavaScript”, an object-capability (ocap) security model, and the Zoe smart contract framework. These combined measures work to reduce common vulnerabilities (such as re-entrancy or unchecked access) by isolating contract execution and enforcing precise permissions.
The native token of Agoric is BLD. It is used for staking (securing the network by delegating BLD to validators), participating in governance (voting on proposals for the network), and helping secure the chain. Agoric also has a second token called IST, which is a stable-token used to pay fees on the network rather than BLD.
To stake BLD on Agoric you would typically: Click on above Staking Link Connect your wallet Enter the amount that you want to delegate Verify the amount
Agoric is trying to achieve two main goals: to make blockchain development easier for traditional developers and to create a platform for seamless, cross-chain applications.
The BLD token is used for governance and network security through staking.
While BLD is the native Token for Agoric and is used as a utility and for network security, IST is being used for Network Fees.
Like other coins belonging to the Cosmos ecosystem, Agoric uses DPoS (delegated Proof of Stake) consensus mechanism, in which users nominate nodes by delegating their coins to a validator node like i.e. Simply Staking. Users receive Staking rewards generated by the node in reward.. The APR varies depending on the network usage, inflation and total staked supply. The delegations are non-custodial, which means the coins never leave your wallet and the delegator can not steal your funds. The unstaking process is called unbonding and takes usually several days to complete.
Staking Agoric with Simply gives you the ability to stake with one of the prime Validators with an excellent uptime history, own load balanced, bare-metal Infrastructure.
Delegating staked BLD Tokens from the node is called unbonding and usually takes 21 days for the Agoric Network. Using the redelegate function, users can also move their stake immediately from one validator to another. If you want to unstake your BLD you can chose how many BLD you want to unstake. Unclaimed rewards will be automatically claimed, once you unstake BLD. The amount to unstake will become unbonding and you have to wait the required days until you can fully use your BLD.
