We’re proud to share that our organization has successfully achieved its SOC 2 Type I attestation.
This attestation demonstrates that our internal controls, data handling, and operational procedures meet the industry’s most recognized standard for protecting customer information.
What SOC 2 Compliance Means
The SOC 2 framework, developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), is the benchmark for assessing how service providers manage data security and system reliability.
A SOC 2 audit reviews a company’s systems against five Trust Service Criteria: Security, Availability, Processing Integrity, Confidentiality, and Privacy.
Earning a Type I attestation confirms that Simply Staking has designed and implemented effective controls as of a specific point in time. It’s a snapshot that shows our infrastructure, policies, and safeguards are in place and functioning as intended.
Type I vs. Type II
While Type I focuses on verifying that the right controls exist, Type II goes a step further. It evaluates how well those controls perform over an extended period, typically three to twelve months. In simple terms:
- Type I: The design of our controls has been validated at a single point in time.
- Type II: The ongoing effectiveness of those controls are validated over time.
Completing Type I is an important first milestone. It lays the foundation for Type II, which we are already preparing for to further strengthen transparency and trust.
